So there's a lot of chatter today about the Republicans getting together to pass their odious Obamacare repeal before the end of the first hundred days. Most savvy Hill watchers say this is more White House hype than reality.  But congressional reps are all at home this week and they' re getting an earful from constituents which probably isn't going to help them.

Congressman Raul Labrador is a leader of the House Freedom Caucus. He held a townhall yesterday in which this came up:

.@Raul_Labrador : I do not believe that healthcare is a basic human right." Reaction: pic.twitter.com/5Senq8DLev

He had plenty of supporters in the crowd too, hard core right wingers.

It occurs to me that this reaction could make Labrador take the easy way out for him and continue to obstruct repeal and replace. He doesn't have anything to gain by it. He can maintain his hard right credentials while not doing anything to piss off all those other people in his district who booed in that clip.

It's win-win for the wingnuts to hold the line and refuse to pass any form of Trumpcare. One suspects they know by now that refusing to take yes for an answer works for them personally.
